My First Year Experience

MY FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE

At 7 o’clock on 31 August 2014, my first step at UTM Skudai for registration as a new student. Praise to Allah that I was accepted to this University that is my dream University since I at secondary school. After registration, I got a room at block M17 room 111. The first room for me as student in UTM. As a first year student of Civil Engineering, every first year must attended “First Year Experience” camp. The aim of this camp is to adapt the first year student in campus environment. There are many activities for the student in this camp. First day of camp, the first program slot is Ice Breaking. In this slot, every student form a team or group. The first task is given to the group, they must create a group name according the alphabet. Then, create a replica for identity of group. The most creative group can get highest marks. Next slot program, briefing of the program is given by the Mr. Sharifudin. Second day of camp, every student move to the building of Faculty of Civil Engineering. Every student do aerobics with facilitator and lecturer. Next, the new task is given. The task is build the model according the knowledge of Civil Engineering. The model is made by waste goods, this activity test the teamwork, innovative and creativity of group. The best model can get highest marks. Next program is the self-reflection by Mr. Hashim. The last day, events for gift for the best group and gets highest marks.
